What's the feed your soul of any surfer?

The passion for surfing, waves, and the ocean is powerful, all-consuming, absolute. There comes a moment to decide whether to continue navigating the normal life or surrender to the wild side of your soul, leaving behind well-trodden paths to chart your own course. When the rest of life revolves around the time left for surfing. It doesn't matter what job you'll do, where or how you'll live: the only thing that matters is whether today, tomorrow, or the day after, you'll be in the water with your board, together with your friends, when the waves come.

What type of choice does the "surf van culture" represent?

It's an individual and collective choice, filled with nights spent sleeping in the back of a van and exhilarating awakenings at dawn with the sea swelling and unleashing all its power on the beach. It's also the surf van culture, a nomadic lifestyle born in California in the 1960s, which has never stopped influencing generations of surfers worldwide. Photographer Matthew Brookes wanted to capture it in the book "Into the Wild" (Damiani).

What is Matthew Brookes' experience with a community of nomadic surfers?

In the early months of 2021, Matthew came across a small community of nomadic surfers on the coast of Southern California. Starting from Venice Beach, he began following them in a life far removed from the mundane "9-to-5 routine".

How is each day described in the life of these surfers?

Every day has a different dawn on a different beach, full moon nights are meant to slide into the sea with the board and not for sleeping. The world flows in front of the windows of their old restored vans. Among the pages, interviews with young surfers complete the story in pictures. They are made by Zack Raffin, a contributor to Stab Magazine and surfer in turn, who offers us an insider's point of view.

"Into the Wild": the surfing culture.

"Into the Wild" is a visual manifesto of an alternative life. A life of simple yet adventurous daily routines, where each day is always different from the previous one, a life that SEASE embodies in its collections, kits, and its latest campaign payoff: "Feed your soul."
